Hi, my name is Josiah Berger, and I'm a 16 year old bodybuilder from Ames. Would I qualify for the Men's Open category? I am interested in competing up due to my physique development.
January 5th, 2016 14:19
Great question Josiah. Yea, the Open category is open to anyone, whether they are 16 or 61. There also is a teen class for bodybuilding. Let us know if you have any other questions, thanks for the interest!

I am new to this and I am looking at May 14,2016 being my first bikini competition. I'm going to need a tan , makeup, and hair done for the show. Will there be anyone I need to get a hold of to set this up?
January 21st, 2016 10:26
When can competitors get registered?
January 21st, 2016 11:50
Anytime, the online entry is live on this site.
January 30th, 2016 13:46
For Teen physique would it be the traditional board shorts??
January 30th, 2016 22:52
Yes, that is correct.
February 3rd, 2016 12:29
I placed first in my weight class in 2013 in an IFBB show in Denver. Is it ok to compete in this show after a 1st place showing in the past (from the IFBB)? I have been drug free for life, and I'm tired of competing against "1/2 year naturals" in Colorado. If I can compete, what events specifically can I be a part of?
February 4th, 2016 18:56
Good question Jon. Once a competitor has competed in a professional competition, whether IFPA or another federation, they are no longer eligible to compete as an amateur in the NANBF.
February 9th, 2016 11:47
Actually, it was just an NPC "natural" division in the Mile High Showdown (2013 and 2014). I did NOT compete in the professional divisions of the show. Does a 1st place showing in this show (in my weight class) knock me out of the NANBF?
February 9th, 2016 17:13
Ahh, that makes sense. You would be able to compete in the NANBF as the NPC is an amateur organization.
March 15th, 2016 8:33
We live in state but a ways from Des Moines. Is there any part of the process that happens the night before or can this show be done with out a hotel stay if we prefer to come in Saturday morning?
March 15th, 2016 10:52
Good question Laurie! All competitors must check in on Friday evening betwen 6:30PM and 8 PM.
March 16th, 2016 16:07
Will pre-contest instructions be sent to competitors after registration? Also everything regarding tanning, check-in, pre-judging, and show times (itinerary)?
March 17th, 2016 7:53
Yes, there is information sent out immediately after registration with regards to the contest. Additionally, there will be more information as contest date approaches sent to competitors.
March 20th, 2016 20:38
I am coming up from Kansas City. Do you have a tanning sponsor? If not, do you have recommendations of whom I can contact? Thanks!
March 21st, 2016 20:21
Yes we do, hair and makeup too! When you get your entry in, you'll get all that and more information. Thanks!
March 22nd, 2016 8:07
Hello; is there a Pro Class or is this just a pro-qualifier?
March 22nd, 2016 12:10
This is a pro-qualifier.
April 5th, 2016 17:51
If you win your class at this show, do you become pro or are you granted an opportunity to become pro?
April 6th, 2016 17:46
Good question. If you win your class in the Central Midwest Open, you then will go on to be in the overall competition with the other class winners. The winner of this is who would win their pro card.
April 26th, 2016 12:17
Is there no Masters in Men's Physique?
April 26th, 2016 14:14
Not this year, there is novice, Iowa and open.
April 26th, 2016 12:43

Hello, I just completed my registry and am coming from Wisconsin so I was wondering if I could request a later time of Friday for my polygraph. I have yet to receive the email to set my appointment so I though I would reach out to you here in hopes to hold a spot on Friday.
