Natural Iowa History: 2003
Let’s rewind the clock to the 2003 NANBF Natural Iowa!
In Women’s bodybuilding, Jennifer Jeffress had a great day by winning the overall title with her great combination of impressive muscle and tight definition, edging out Anna Nordeng. Also, notably, Dawn Zaruba made her impressive debut by winning the novice class and would later go on to become a force on the pro circuit.
Babette Mulford wowed the crowd not only with her routine in Xtreme Fit but also with her impressive physique.
Veteran competitor Shane Solberg had the honors of earning the Karl Schneider award for his sportsmanship and dedication to the sport of natural bodybuilding.
Yet again, the men’s bodybuilding brought a battle over overalls. In a repeat of last year, Lance Christians and Fim Fullmer found themselves in the overall but Jason Landers was in the mix. Landers was runner up last year to overall champion Dennis Thielen and now he was in the mix. After the dust settled, 2003 was Landers year and he earned the overall and natural pro card with his sweeping muscle bellies and symmetry.
